The Art of Chocolate- Tasting Session

  • Join the master chocolatiers of Artisan Confections, DC Metro’s premier fine chocolate boutique, studio and workshop, for our Chocolate Tasting Event at our Mclean location.

    This delicious and intriguing class will introduce you to the skill of chocolate tasting- the art of tasting and recognizing flavors when enjoying fine chocolate. You'll taste your way through five distinct truffles and caramels, as well as chocolate couverture with different cacao percentages. By the end of the session you will know how to taste and recognize high end chocolate, and we will discuss types of flavors we use, and why they go well with different types of chocolate. 

     Your tasting event includes a brief intro to the history of chocolate, the amazing nature of cocoa butter and why it makes chocolate so amazing!

    • Duration of this event is approximately 60 minutes, although it may go over at no extra cost.
    • There is a maximum of 10 students in each class, and if there is insufficient enrollment there will be a full refund.
    • Full refunds or credits are available for cancellations made at least 7 days prior to the class date. Cancellations after 7 days will be given a credit for a future class, if less than 24 hours then no credit can be given.



  • All packages are shipped via UPS. Shipping rates are flat costs per address. If you are shipping to more than one address, then additional shipping charges will apply for each shipment. We can not ship to PO or APO Boxes

    Most of our shipments are shipped Monday through Wednesday in order to avoid having the chocolates sit over the weekend in an unconditioned warehouse. Orders placed after 2 PM on Wednesdays will be held until the following Monday to ensure minimal time in transit.

    Delivery timelines do not take unexpected weather delays into consideration, which may affect delivery timelines, ship dates and arrival dates. We cannot be held responsible for delays due to weather, incorrect address provided to us or other circumstances beyond our control.

    To reduce the risk of melted chocolate in transit to warmer climates (70°F and higher), we use insulated packaging and ice packs to protect the chocolates. In summer months, all orders that are shipped will include insulated packaging and ice packs. The need for additional packaging is reflected in the shipping rates.
